What is Pilates?

  • Pilates is a full body exercise modality using a variety of sprung loaded equipment to create resistance and challenge stability, balance and coordination. 
  • With an emphasis on spinal health, breath, mobility, flexibility and total body integration, Pilates is a practice that can benefit clients of every age and fitness level. Considering its low impact on joints, Pilates is especially beneficial for active aging clients.
  • Every Pilates session is a chance to check-in with the body, and physically reorganize for the inevitable shifts and changes we experience as humans day-to-day. Pilates is an opportunity to pay attention to ourselves, and practice being present as we mindfully move through space.
